Tamiflu Good?

Articles by Dr. Erdman are for informational purposes, and are not to be taken as specific medical advice.

For those of you who have been reading these articles for a while, I apologize for yet another one on this subject. I just can’t help myself when the newest research, yet again, bears out what health observers have long noted. You guessed it, the ever evil flu season is upon us. The flu can be deadly, but if you’re generally healthy, it will be of no consequence other than a few miserable achy days.

Of course, flu shots are the mainstay of prevention for traditional medicine. I’ve shown you in many articles how worthless they are.

The next line of defense put forward by medicine is the antiviral medications such as Tamiflu. Governments, including the USA to the tune of $1.3 billion dollars’ worth, stockpile these drugs just in case a severe outbreak occurs. If these drugs actually worked the theory would be sound. Unfortunately, as with many allopathic cures, you have been lied to. Not only are those antivirals not effective, they also have serious side effects.

Drug makers have now been shown to have hidden major amounts of negative data on the flu drug Tamiflu from the public record. The uncovered evidence does not support the claims that Tamiflu lowers the risk of flu complications. The benefits of Tamiflu do not appear to outweigh the risks, thus government stockpiling of this drug appears pointless.

Says who? The Cochrane Collaboration. This is a four year effort which included a Freedom if Information lawsuit, to uncover over 160,000 hidden documents. By medicines standards, this is a gold standard, evidence based review. They reviewed completed clinical studies. Many were ‘unpublished,’ but were the basis for market approval. Previous review of ‘published’ trials revealed “substantial publication bias.” This means they cherry picked which studies they published and put forward as evidence. It took a lawsuit to reveal the hidden studies.

The hidden studies show antiviral drugs do not lower the risk of complications of the flu such as pneumonia, or that the benefits outweigh the risks.

There is no evidence to support the claims that Tamiflu lowers the transmission of the flu. The study noted “there is no credible way these drugs could prevent a pandemic.” Now, isn’t that why our government spent $1.3 billion on them?

The study found Tamiflu did not affect the number of hospitalizations, it did not affect the transmission of the flu, and it was associated with many side effects including nausea, vomiting, headaches, kidney problems and psychiatric events, and may induce serious heart rhythm problems.

The drug makers hid the negative data from the public. On November 13, 2014, “Newsweek” reported, “The FDA knew about it [the hidden data], but the medical community did not; the CDC…had recommended the drug without being able to see the full picture.” Well, if that doesn’t just make you wonder! What else does the CDC recommend without ever knowing the whole picture? Maybe…flu shots? Who knows.

Other side effects include convulsions, delirium or delusions and suicidal behavior. Japan has actually banned Tamiflu for children as of 2007 because of these risks. And the FDA is investigating some 1,800 reports of abnormal behaviors and other brain effects in US children who had taken Tamiflu.

Your best chance of not getting the flu is to stay healthy. Don’t overload your system with refined sugars and carbs. They are simply more obstacles your gut needs to overcome. Take more omega 3’s by adding krill oil to your diet.

Hygienically, wash your hands often, with non-antibacterial soaps, they are unnecessary. Sneeze into your elbow instead of your hands.

Use natural immune boosters such as oregano, garlic and peppermint oils. These offer protection against a broad spectrum of bacteria, viruses and protozoa in your body. They do not lead to resistance or the development of super germs, like drugs are known to do.

And lastly, as I’ve written before, avoid hospitals at all costs. Only go there if you are in a life threatening situation. Hospitals are a breeding ground for many of the drug resistant infections that are deadly. Stay home and recuperate there in comfort, your life may depend on it.
