Instead of writing about how over-hyped this Covid response has been yet again, this week we will focus on the known risk factors, remedies and treatments, both natural and pharmacologic.  In this article I am doing a synopsis of an article published by “Swiss Policy Research.” You can see the entire published article at www.SWPRS.org/on-the-treatment-of-covid-19, and all the references for the claimed treatments and protocols.

There are certain preventive, or prophylactic, treatments that everyone can and should be acting on right now. These things will give your body the best shot at overcoming or even preventing you from contracting this virus.

 Number one is Vitamin D3. Many studies have shown a strong link between deficiency and Covid 19 severity of symptoms. Taking 2000-5000 IU daily should be your normal dose even without this virus around.

Covid... Yet Again

I am really tired of talking and writing about this pandemic.  But there is so much disinformation being shoved down our throats on a daily basis, I feel like I need to shed some light on the actual “science” of this disease.

What everyone needs to come to terms with is that we have a new respiratory virus in town – one that may stay with us indefinitely! The question becomes, just how long do we lock ourselves in our homes and shun all social relationships?!

The data is clear – Covid 19 has not resulted in excess mortality! Meaning, the same number of people have died in this pandemic year as have died in any other year! Many studies suggest this thing is far more widespread than we even know.

For those of you who have been reading these articles for a while, I apologize for yet another one on this subject. I just can’t help myself when the newest research, yet again, bears out what health observers have long noted. You guessed it, the ever evil flu season is upon us. The flu can be deadly, but if you’re generally healthy, it will be of no consequence other than a few miserable achy days.

Of course, flu shots are the mainstay of prevention for traditional medicine. I’ve shown you in many articles how worthless they are.

China Virus and Immunity

Yes, this is another article on the China virus! It is the topic of the year, with so much misinformation I feel the need to present a reasoned argument for sanity in this “crisis.”

If you’ve read these columns for any amount of time, I’d guess you already know I’m not a fan of vaccines, in most any case. A Covid vaccine will not change my attitude on this topic.

If they made a vaccine out of saline water and just told everyone that it worked, I’d be all for it just to get back to normal life! Beyond that, let all the sheeple take any vaccine that they come up with, while you continue a healthy lifestyle.

Covid-19 and Obesity

This China virus sure does have people relying on false information for everything from mask use to who’s at risk. 

There is risk in every move you make, every day.  This virus is no different. Some people are at elevated risk, others have very little risk.  So how do you discern who is at risk and who is not? Are there any parameters you can measure to see if you are high or low risk? Absolutely!

Dr. Mercola did an interview with Dr. Aseem Malhotra, a British cardiologist, who delves into the role insulin resistance plays in the Covid-19 pandemic picture.

Dr Malhotra claims the real pandemic is poor metabolic health. As early as March, the data out of China and Italy showed a clear link with obesity and poor outcomes with this virus.

Germ Theory?

In this time of the China virus, do you believe that simply being exposed to it automatically means you get it?  The way some people act it seems you can get it from driving behind someone in their car, so they wear a mask… alone…. in the car.   

Do you really catch a cold or get a communicable disease simply by coming in contact with a germ? If that was the case, wouldn’t we all be sick all the time?  Obviously, our bodies have a defense system and we need to keep it the best of condition so it serves us well when the time comes that it is needed.  There are also actions we can take to mitigate our contact with pathogens that may harm us.   Hand washing is one such action, mask wearing is not.

Omega 3 Part 2

In the last article we introduced the fact that there is a difference in the origin of omega-3 fats, being either plant derived or animal derived. The animal derived omega-3 fats also have differences in their origin, either being fish based or krill based.

Here, we will further explain the differences, starting with animal versus plant derived omega-3 fats.

Marine animal based fats are sourced from fatty fish such as salmon, anchovies, sardines, herring, fish and krill. DHA is primarily a long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) with 22 carbons, and EPA is a PUFA of 20 carbons. Since they are long chain fatty acids, they are more readily available to your body.

Omega 3 Part 1

I’ve written several times over the years on the benefits of Omega-3 fats, EPA and DHA. They are essential to your overall health and to your heart health particularly.

There are many studies confirming that regular consumption of fish and other omega-3 rich foods may lower your risk of a heart attack by about ten percent. One Italian study showed a 50% reduction in sudden cardiac death.

Omega-3 fats benefit your cardiovascular health in multiple ways. They lower blood pressure and triglyceride concentrations. They improve your ability to grow new blood vessels, which helps in areas that may be damaged.

Inflated Flu Deaths and Covid

With the focus of people completely shifted to this Chinese Virus, there have been telling revelations about the yearly influenza season.

Many people, including me, have compared flu death statistics and China virus death statistics. An amazing admission from the CDC has now come out on this comparison. They now say that comparing the two diseases death rates is like comparing apples to oranges. They readily admit they do not actually count every flu case, and the death numbers they put out are just estimates. While with the China virus, they are actually “counting” every case.  Maybe so.

Masks or not?

This corona virus situation seems to have more sides and opinions than hairs on our head.  You can debate where it came from, how it started and why it progressed as it did.  We can posit why so many died in nursing homes in New York and PA but not in many other places.  But the thing we seem to fight over the most is mask or no mask!

Besides the obvious lack of authority by the government to mandate mask wearing and mandate businesses be the gate keeper of this mandate, is there evidence that makes mask wearing a good idea? Maybe, maybe not is the answer. It depends on the stated objective of mask wearing.

Laser Therapy Uses

In my practice, I utilize many types of treatments to achieve the best possible outcome for any particular condition. Obviously adjusting the spine and many other affected joints is our primary treatment. Exercises, stretches and use of rehabilitation protocols are also an integral part of getting sick people well.

Today, I want to introduce you to my favorite modality in the quest for healing at the cellular level, Laser Therapy. LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It is simply another form of energy that can be used to create physiologic changes to tissue. Albert Einstein provided the basic science and theory for laser.

Most people, when asked, will say the sun is bad for you, it causes skin cancer, sunburns and gives you leather looking skin. Should you avoid the sun? Does it really cause cancer? Wuhan Virus?

Most of us are probably pretty tired of hearing about this Wuhan virus by now.  The scare tactics and misinformation is so bad, many people are scared out of their minds! Don’t let that be you – learn some facts we now know that weren’t available initially.

When this virus first came out of China, the predictions called for 2.2 million deaths in the USA alone. The latest models now say 30-60,000 deaths in the USA.

Virus Self Care Info

I stole this from a post by a respiratory therapist. I would agree with this advice for just about any respiratory condition. These are simply guidelines for you to determine if your own situation can be contained by homecare, or necessitate further treatment by professionals.  Do these things first, when appropriate, and if they fail to help, see the doctor.

"I'm going share some common sense wisdom with those that have the virus and are trying to stay out of the hospital. If this advice is followed as given you will improve your chances of not ending up in the hospital on a ventilator. This applies to the otherwise generally healthy population, so use discretion.

Normal Body Temp Is?

Some ideas we are taught as facts may have been true at some point in time, yet may not currently be accurate. Take global cooling in the 1970’s. It was true then, yet in the 1990’s we’ve had global warming, and now we have globally static temperatures for about a decade or so. These are facts whether you acknowledge them or not.
